In the same way that Solomon dedicated the Temple and God made it holy, we should dedicate ourselves to fulfill God's purposes as his Spirit dwells in us and makes us holy.

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:32, NIV)

You can follow in Solomon's footsteps by praying for the people in your community. Make a list of the needs and take them to God. He might call you to be his hands and feet in order to meet some of those needs.

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen which were just as they had been told (Luke 2:16-20, NIV).

Is praise a priority for you? You can begin worship by acknowledging God's love. Praise God first; then you will be prepared to present your needs to him. Recalling God's love and mercy will inspire you to worship him daily.

As you structure your own work or arrange the schedules of others, watch for the impact of your plans on your family and those of others. How will you show the same priority Solomon had for family time?

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord (Psalm 27:14 NIV).

No matter what we have done in the past, we can turn to God in faith, receive his forgiveness, and experience renewed fellowship and strength from him.

You can ask God for wisdom (James 1:5) and the courage to do whatever he calls you to do. God takes seriously anyone who asks for wisdom. Remember also, "when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind" (James 1:6).
Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God (2 Corinthians 7:1).
